Beautiful music - beautifully played
Reviewer: amgard
This CD is the first that I've heard from Mike Phillips,
and what a pleasant surprise it is! Truly original compositions
and excellent musicianship mark this CD out as one I will listen
to again and again. There is a 'feeling' of early Jethro Tull acoustic
numbers and maybe some Enigma, but this is no derivative work, it
is original and stands on its own. Stand-out tracks are difficult
to name, because the whole would be lessened by isolating tracks
from it; but if you really must select tracks to listen to first,
then 'Brisk Ulbster Day' and 'The End (parts 1 & 2)' are outstanding
tracks of immense beauty and musicality. This is a CD I would wholeheartedly
recommend to all who enjoy immersing themselves in inspiring musicianship
and beautiful music.
Brilliant Spiritually Uplifting Debut!

Wow!! What a fantastic debut album from Mike.Vocally it's one
of the most beautiful things I've ever heard-angels come to mind
(if that's not a completely un-druid-like thing to say!) Fabulous
depth is here in the writing and musicianship-an absolutely superb
debut. Buy it!!
the lyrics are heartfelt , the music is flawless

I've had the privledge of seeing this CD evolve into some wonderful
music. All 13 cuts are very well produced and performed. To get
so much out of a guitar and voice is very inspiring to fellow musicians
like myself.
